So, my daughter and the neighbor boy were playing outside yesterday (it’s been so warm here that we are referring to this mid-winter break as “spring break.”) Anyway, a neighbor came home and had a bunch of groceries to be taken into the house. Girlfriend and the boy offered to help and brought all the bags in. They were rewarded with M&Ms. I was chatting with the neighbor when I heard the two kids speculating on whether or not a hot dog tree would grow if they planted some of the M&Ms. On her blog, Hilary at Wee Wonderfuls talked about her son wanting to plant bread in their new garden. I asked if maybe we should share the harvest and have hot dogs and buns.

Fabulous! I used to think my parents rose bushes could talk to each other when we weren’t watching, in fact I assumed that all the rose flowers were turning around and having a right old chit chat when we weren’t there. Mind you, until I was about 6 I was convinced if I thought really hard I would grow up to be a plant, once I was made aware that wasn’t going to happen I decided to be a Hawaiian dancer as they wore plants all the time (yep, I’m a blond haired kiwi with three left feet). Its kind of a shame when children no longer believe such things.
