Hooray! It’s been snowing! It started on Sunday. Then we had more on Monday. Then it warmed up a bit, then cooled and created sheets of ice everywhere. And school has been cancelled two days in a row! And maybe tomorrow, too. Sigh. Heaven. It’s not bad by, say, Maine’s standards, but with Seattle’s lack of equipment and its hills, it means no moving around by car. Yay! My friend Molly, who’s staying with us while she finishes her Ph.D., is a native Minnesotan and says we were “weenies.” And she’s right. But I revel in our weenieship if it means an official snow day.
The chickens are confused by the snow. They are hanging out under the birdfeeder with all the juncos, chickadees, wrens, and sparrows. We even had a flicker visit the birdfeeder–but he gave up on trying to get anything out after awhile. He was just too big.
I’ve been trying to post pictures, but Blogger won’t let me. So, pictures later. Snow play today!!
