It’s getting to be that season–holiday baking season. I love this time of the year! Not only is it the winter holidays (whichever holiday you choose to celebrate), but it is also my birthday month. So, I have many reasons to be festive. And, of course, I celebrate by doing a whole lot of baking. It’s the thing that gives me the most joy in the world (well, aside from my family).
This year, I am honored to be asked to be part of Silvana Nardone‘s Gluten-Free Holiday Cookie Countdown. Silvana, in case you don’t already know, is the Founding Editor in Chief of Everyday With Rachael Ray, magazine, as well as cookbook author, most recently of the new gluten-free cookbook, Cooking for Isaiah: Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free Recipes for Easy Delicious Meals. The Isaiah of the title is her son, who is gluten-free and dairy-free. I love her approach to gluten-free cooking, which is “no compromises.” That’s exactly my attitude as well–you don’t have to compromise good taste or texture just because you are gluten- (or dairy-) free. Good food is good food.
For her upcoming Holiday Cookie Countdown, Silvana invited several bakers (incuding those who aren’t necessarily gluten-free) to submit gluten-free cookie recipes for the month. She will then post a recipe a day in December. Such a fab idea! And take a look at who’s participating–wow:
