So, we finally caught the original mouse-bat. dAhub checked the traps at around 6 am and found the mouse-bat with the big ears had finally been trapped. He said that the mouse-bat that was caught in the first trap didn’t have the big ears. So, I think we have finally conquered our original Moby Mouse-Bat. He is now happily trolling the gardens of the pea-patch in the park next door.
In other critter news. we have a house wren couple who have moved into the bird house on the railing outside of the kitchen window. They are so cute and their song is very pretty. This morning, though, they had some sort of dispute with a black-capped chickadee couple who seemed to be quite upset that the wrens were in the bird house. I’ve been doing some research and it turns out that house wrens will take over the nesting spots of other birds and throw all the nesting material out and replace it with their own nesting stuff. So, I’m guessing that the wrens moved into the chickadee’s house and the chickadees are mad. I don’t blame them. They were all arguing the in the mock orange bush next to the house. Sigh. We have another bird house in the yard–can’t someone live in there?

Yipee!! I had a similar problem a few months back…I don’t mind the little critters I just don’t want them in MY space!
You need more birdhouses…except it causes even more squabbles! But I enjoy my birds…
