Today was the day to move the new chicken coop to its permanent spot. Yay! It started at the right side of back of the backyard:
The picture above was taken about a week ago.
And today we (I use the royal “we”) moved it to the left side of the back of the backyard:
Here are the men who did it: dAhub (on the left) and our manly neighbors. The guy on the right end of the group is our neighbor who did most of the work and provided most of the materials and tools for building the coop–thanks incredible neighbor!
We still have to put the roofing material on coop part (again I use the royal we). The front part is a run enclosed with chicken wire so the chickens can be outside but stay enclosed when we want them to be. The greenish square on the run part is an outdoor tablecloth that we’re using as a temporary rain shield.
It really is great to have a good, well-built chicken coop.
PS: did you notice the quality of the pictures? I took them with my new camera–which is an Olympus FE250. It’s amazing how much difference having a good piece of equipment makes. Maybe I’m not such a bad photographer after all…
