I have asked my daughter to list some of her favorite things from the weeks leading up to Christmas. Here they are:
* Going to the Nutcracker ballet for the first time (note from Jeanne: there were no Sugarplum Fairies! The music was there, but the Fairies were not. Can someone explain this to me??)
* Going on my annual visit with my best friend to see Santa and then take a ride on the carousel (notice my beret–it was my mom’s when she was in college in the ’80s)
* Baking and decorating cookies to give to my teachers
* Participating in the holiday celebration at my school which included showing off the gingerbread log cabin I made (notice my sweater that my mom knit for me a couple of years ago)
* Snuggling with the Baby Bobbi Bear that my mom knit for me
* Decorating the tiny little tree that we found at the last minute on Christmas Eve (we couldn’t find any other trees anywhere!)
* Reading Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, the book that Santa gave me. I just love Wallace and Gromit! It was the first movie I ever saw in the movie theatre and I just loved it. And now I have the book to read!
