So, it’s the last day of mid-winter break here in rainy Seattle. Yes, rainy. We had several days of incredible sun and relative warmth at the beginning of the week, and now are back to drizzle. I have wonky sinuses and whenever the weather switches from sun to rain I get a pounding headache. I spent the day in bed yesterday, finishing some knitting projects (pictures later–these are gifts and I want the giftees to see them first).
I did a little garden clean up on Monday and Tuesday. It’s so nice to see the little buds on everything. The daylilies are coming up, as are the irises. Both of these actually bloom in late spring/early summer, so I’m always intrigued with the fact that they come up so early. The chickens are scratching up everything, so it will soon be time to exile them to their chicken yard to give the emerging plants a fighting chance. New plants just equal dinner to the little piggies with wings.
I got this cute teapot a couple of weeks ago. I couldn’t help myself. I am a dedicated tea drinker. And I have a lovely husband who gets up each morning and makes me a pot of tea before I get out of bed. Sigh. Bliss. My usual teapot (that I got 20 years ago–eek!) has a slight crack in the handle, so we switched to the elephant and it makes me happy to look at it first thing each day.
