It snowed on Saturday night and much of it stuck. So, we spent Sunday morning playing in the the snow and throwing snowballs. This is such powdery snow, it was really fun to make the snowballs because they are light. I saved one in the freezer, ala DW from the “Arthur” books/TV show.
Even though we’ve had no more snow, the temperature is super low (for Seattle)–it got into the low 20s last night and will not get above 30ish today–so it’s icy in spots. This does not make for good driving on hilly side streets. So, at 5:50 this morning, we got an automated phone call from the school district, informing us that school would start two hours late. Other than being completely freaked out at getting an early phone call (I was almost ready to cry as I got out of bed to answer the phone, thinking it was even more tragic news about my family), we were excited at the prospect of sleeping a bit later. Anyway, we turned off the alarm and slept in for an extra hour. Then we spent the morning leisurely getting ready for school/work. It was so pleasant, Girlfriend kept talking about this being her “kind of day.”
